Finally, after nearly 4 months, we have finally finished a room (that isn’t the toilet). Bedroom 3 is done. Named Bedroom 3 as that is what it is on our plan. At the moment it is the office as we need to renovate the room that was the office. Feels great to finally have something completed.

Check out the quick video here:

Before

  • The carpet was disgusting and dirty
  • There was a cupboard on the right as you walked in that aligned with the cupboard in Bedroom 1
  • There was an empty space on the left that could fit a cupboard
  • The paint was a terrible colour but it wasn’t in too bad condition
  • The skirting boards were the old round quad

During

  • Ripped up the carpet and lining
  • Smashed out the cupboard
  • Moved the wall from Bedroom 3 to line up with the wall in this room
  • Added a Masonite panel to match the depth of the wall
  • Sanded and painted windows, ceiling and walls
  • Sanded floors with Drum Sander, Edger, Finishing Sander and Renovator Tool

After

  • Walls painted in Casper Quarter White Satin
  • Window trims and doors in Casper Quarter White Semi-Gloss
  • Ceiling pained in ceiling white
  • New skirting boards from Bunnings
  • Cupboards purchased 2nd hand. They are Ikea cupboards exactly the same as we were going to purchase but with hinge doors instead of sliders. Happy to save $700.
  • Floors varnished with Cabot’s CFP- Water Based
  • Curtains- Gummerson Caine Eyelet Curtain Silver from Spotlight
  • Curtain Rods from Bunnings

Much to Brett’s horror, I booked a day at the Mornington Peninsula Springs, starting at 6am. This meant getting out of bed in the dark and cold before 5am. However, as you will see, it was totally worth doing and even Brett has admitted that. This place is on another…
