We finally finished the main bedroom. Now we haven’t done all the work since we posted about Bedroom 3, we were working on them concurrently. This main bedroom was a big one though. We had to remove all the walls and gyprock so that was an interesting project for Brett. I must admit that smashing the walls and cupboard out was kinda fun, but I was having so much fun I forgot to get any footage or even many photos. Video is here and details are below the video. Definitely glad to have that one out of the way but still have a lot more to do.

Before

  • The carpet was disgusting and dirty
  • There was a cupboard on the left as you walked in that aligned with the cupboard in Bedroom 3
  • The walls were textured Masonite and were peeling terribly

During

  • Ripped up the carpet and lining
  • Smashed out the cupboard
  • Moved the wall to line up with the wall of Bedroom 3
  • Totally removed the old Masonite walls
  • Redo walls with Gyprock
  • Sanded and painted windows, ceiling and walls
  • Sanded floors with Drum Sander, Edger, Finishing Sander and Renovator Tool

After

  • New fan and downlights from Bunnings (installed by HVT Electrical)
  • Walls painted in Casper Quarter White Satin
  • Window trims and doors in Casper Quarter White Semi-Gloss
  • Ceiling pained in ceiling white
  • New skirting boards from Bunnings
  • Cupboards from Ikea PAX range
  • Floors varnished with Cabot’s CFP- Water Based
  • Curtains- Gummerson Caine Eyelet Curtain Silver from Spotlight
  • Curtain Rods from Bunnings
