The transformation of the bathroom is all Brett’s ingenious vision and skilled execution. Although the time constraints meant we couldn’t do a complete overhaul, the result is nothing short of remarkable. The bathroom started as a pretty boring, run-down room. Check out the before photos to see what I mean.

In our quest for a more spacious and modern bathroom, we retained the bath, shower, shower screen, and tiles around the bath. Removing the linen cupboard in the corner, which opened from the hallway, was a game-changer. Brett demolished it, creating additional space, and relocated the linen cupboard to the opposite hallway wall. We utilised the end of the built-in cupboards in the adjacent bedroom, maximizing functionality.

Elevating the aesthetic, Brett replaced the floor and bath tiles with chic, large-format modern tiles sourced from a savvy find on Facebook Marketplace. A new vanity and vanity top from Bunnings, paired with an eBay-acquired basin, infused a fresh sense of sophistication. A stroke of serendipity led us to a retro-style mirror, an unbeatable Marketplace find, while the free lights, originally timber, underwent a quick paint job to match the mirror. Additional enhancements, including new towel rails and hooks, completed the interior.

The pièce de résistance, however, is undeniably the barn-style door. Brett’s clever craftsmanship came to the fore as he transformed a plain interior door from Bunnings into a rustic marvel. Intricate grooves and a frame of laminated pine imparted an authentic barn door aesthetic, accentuated perfectly by sleek black fittings. This addition not only amplifies the visual appeal but also adds a touch of uniqueness to the space.

I am thoroughly impressed with Brett’s exceptional workmanship, and the resulting bathroom radiates a sense of spacious modernity that perfectly aligns with our vision. The barn-style door, in particular, transforms a functional space into a stylish room.
